Lack of indoor play places

Does anybody has the same problem? It seems like there is very little places to go with a toddler on a rainy day. I'm not saying that it is the only option, but if you want to go out and let your child play, your only choice are fast food, which is not my favorite.
I'm talking about that because I just found out that our favorite indoor playground is closed. There were couple bouncies and slide for quite a fair price. The best part you had unlimited time to play (unlike the daycare center where you have to pay for each hour) and you also could leave and come back again later that day.
So the story is today my friend and me were planning to go there and I was running late when I got the message that they are out of bussiness. That was a shock because now we have to come up with something else for our toddlers that were promised to jump and play and have a bunch of fun. So our only choice was McDonalds. I don't have a problem with my kid eating couple nuggets once in a while, of course together with milk and apples, but isn't there should be healthier choices for our kids? More and more fast food restaurants opening that try to be more appealing to our children in any possible way: toys coming with the meals, play places, big and bright signs and characters. Talking about characters I once read somewhere about the game you can play with your kids while shopping. You have to find and "ditch" product that is trying to appeal to children and instead find another one which is most of the time is going to be a healthier option.
But going back to playground talk we do need some more of them, not like we have a terrible weather all the time... And please, less french fries and 1000calorie milk shakes!

Summer memories

I am trying really hard to organize my enormous folder of pictures on the computer. It takes lots of time, but I like to look at nice and need archive. Plus I get to look through all of them. Love that! Today I was doing the folders from last summer. I have never taken that many pictures like this summer during my mom's stay. I probably have folder for every day of the month. So many things to do and to see and to preserve in a form of a photograph.

It's seen almost 5 months since my mom who lives in Russia left. She spent two summer months here. How much fun we had! It was very different that I could talk Russian to somebody else except my Little Guy.
We were constantly on the go despite the heat that neither my mom nor me can not stand. I hope she left with a lot of good memories, heart filled with love and joy. At least I am. I look back with happiness to pictures of her and Andrew playing outside with the sprinkler, them swimming in the pool or putting puzzle together.
I miss you. Not a day passes by that I am not thinking how great that would be if my family lived close. So we can share every single day no matter how good or bad it is.
Thank you for being in my life despite all the distance. Hope to see you soon again.

Thinking back about Christmas

Oh, man. I love Christmas! It's really something new for me. Not that I never had it, but where I am from (read: Russia) it is VERY different. So I, like a little child, explore something new and find little joys of  Christmas every year.

One of my favorite parts is to give presents. This is one I made for my sister-in-law for last Christmas. That's a set of 20 cards with simple ornaments. I added 20 envelopes and book of holiday stamps. I was going to get a nice pen, but never got one.
I have completely forgotten about this picture until I got it back this year as an invitation to the Christmas party! It is so nice and flattering to see your presents or piece of work being used.

Hope everybody had a blessed Christmas!
