These both pictures are my entry for Let's do 52 project. As usual the theme has 2 variants - blessings or tiny. I happened to do both.
The first picture I took in the car while waiting for my baby to wake up. Usually if he does that I just carefully trnsfer him to the house from his car seat. But this time he had a hard time falling asleep. so I just decided to wait in the car when he is awake. Luckily I had my camera to kill the time)
Alternative theme of the week is Tiny. Tiny people in the big world! It's amazing how many wonderful, interesting and hard-to-understand things are around them. And how fast they figure everything out! Just yesterday they could hardly hold their head and now you are having a hard time chasing them!
I wish you good luck on your long way, little man!
As you might remember, I'm doing the project Let's do 52. you can see the button on the right side of my blog. The second week was over yesterday and I'm a day behind with it, but I still going to post it. The theme of the week 3 was Abandonedor Doors. I took the picture of that house not far from us. You can see lot's of houses like that. It is sad. People used to leave there and then it is just standing in the wind and rain alone. Abandoned.
I could not come too close, because there was nowhere to stop. So I had to zoom in pretty good to take a shot, that's why some of the pictures turned out to be blurry. This one was probably of the best clarity. It was my first time using gradient map and chosing my own colors there. I never thought it is that easy. And when you can control all the brightness, contrast and all the tones it just feel so good)
Update: One of the comments to that picure on Flickr says that it would be interesting to see the original picture, so made the before and after picture for you to see.
First of all, I'm late with this post, because we had a cake and ice-cream for my hisband's niece's birthday and we came back home pretty late. I did take the picture but just was very tired to post it, so I'm doing it today. And not one
but TWO! It was hard to choose between them) I always have problem with the choices. Any kind of them. I don't know what to choose to eat at the restaurant, I'm not sure what color of dress to buy or which shoes are going to look better. The same about pictures. I'm doing several variants of one and the same picture and then I'm stuck with the couple I like but really can't decide what color or what effect looks better. And the worst part is that I don't know how I deal with it. With the choices and decisions.
Well, the only thing I can say is that'shisbirthdaytoday! We went out for dinner and stopped on the way home for ice-cream. We really had fun.
All I had with me was my old small point and shoot camera. All I could do today is just out those picture in the storyboard from the CoffeeShop Blog. That's it my friends! I'm off to bed. Good night everyone!
Did you guys had Polaroid when you were kids? (or when you were young)? We never had one, but we were borrowing it from our friend for special occasions. We had to be very careful with it in order not to break it. And the film, or cassetts, I'm not sure how they called were rather expensive. Today you can take 500 photos just to select couple good ones, there you had only one shot.
I loved those pictures! Loved that they were instant, loved to hold the picture right out of the camera and watch all the colors and details of the photo appear! There was something magical about that!
This is the picture I was doing for Challenge What's Your Viewpoint? within the project Let's do 52 . Everyone who is interested is welcome to join the project any time.
I really wanted to shoot some pictures of my baby, but he is always on the go, and it is hard. So I just decided to snap some photos of my doggy that always laying somewhere close to the heating vents)
I have Photoshop for couple years already, but I never was trying to use it to edit my pictures. It seemed so hard. Now, when you can use actions, it makes editing so easier. But when you use actions, maybe because of curiosity, I want to try to do something myself. You can find lot's of tutorial on how to edit pictures. This is one of my first. I found great actions, tutorials and frames at The CoffeeShop Blog. And what is most amazing, that everything there is free.
Today's picture I edited using one of the tutorials.
I found that idea here. So I thought about doing the same but with the name of my daughter. First I was going to do it for Christmas, that passed without any sign of my finished project, so I just did it later. I surprised her, she went outside with her dad and I was hanging CD's above her bed. Yes, this is 5 recycled CD's that we are nor using no more, plus my old album of K&Co paper. I decided to coat them with mod podge, but i'm not very happy with the result, well may be i was not doing something right. Still, she is happy and I'm happy that she likes it, because that what it was all for.
I did hang them straight, it just something wrong with me taking a picture)))
Now is the big list of where I would like to enter my project
Thirteen days after Western Christmas, on January 7th, the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates its Christmas, in accordance with the old Julian calendar. So Merry Christmas, everyone, who celebrates it today!
Starting today, I decided to start posting at least one picture each day. Since I have got my new camera, of course it is not a precious DSLR that I want so much. It is Kodak Easy share Z981, 26mm lens. But I love it! It is definetely much better than our old point and shoot camera all wrapped in duct tape (just a minute ago I figured out that it is not DUCK tape, as I thought before)))))) Well, it sounded like it)
I guess I will call it as usual Project 365. I hope it will help me to get to know my new camera, to be more responsible to the goals that i set for myself.
So the picture of the first day is really awesome (that's my personal opinion))) ha We have whole bunch of white geese on the fields around our development, so i took my time and went there to take couple pictures.
I don't know what's wrong today, but those days happen. It might start like a normal ordinary day, we went to the library in the morning for the story time, stopped for lunch at mommom's and then that happened. My child started to cry, about everything, maybe he decided to cry and forgot to think of the reason, so everything turned out to be the reason. All of a sudden he stopped drinking milk, he forgot how to have fun playing his toys, etc...Finally after 2 hours of crankiness he fell asleep. Such a relief!
BUT! I had to hold him sitting in the chair, so all the plans that I had for that time disappeared right away. No one was cleaning the kitchen and cooking at least some kind of a dinner, or cleaning my craft spot, which is a complete mess, or just sorting all those christmas little things piling in my bedroom.
Well, my husband is home finally after work and I thought I might do something I was putting off for a while. I found the vintage growth chart on Cathe Holden's blog Just something I made . I wanted to get a growth chart for a long time and never got it. Gosh, those printers feels like from the ancient times... so slow. Anyway, by the time i was printing the 3rd or 4th page i decided to check if it measures right and it turned out that in my version there were 10 inches in a foot!!! What a... I'm reading the instructions again... How stupid I could be!!! It's always my thing...Either I'm not really paying attention, or I forget thing, or postpone everything I can without any obvious reason. So this time it I was printing my chart on regular size photo paper which is 8,5x11 when the instructions clearly says LEGAL size 8x14.
Plus in the middle of everything the printer is starting to act up.
Well, anyway I finished it, glued it all together. Looks gorgeous! But not right.
Just feel a little upset. Why I can't be like other people and just buy a bunch of christmas cards in the dollar tree and save a lot of money, why I have to make something myself and spend time doing my very important project instead of just having fun with my family or going to bed earlier for a change...
I guess I'm off to bed
